Bio
Mr. Tariq Mojadidi is a Partner at Moore Stephens Ltd, Afghanistan (Moore Afghanistan), a leading professional services firm with nationwide reach across all 34 provinces, where he leads the Audit and Tax practices serving NGOs, INGOs, SOEs, and private enterprises. Mr. Mojadidi is a U.S. Certified Public Accountant licensed in Virginia and holds a B.Sc. in Economics & Finance from the London School of Economics & Political Science, complemented by advanced professional training in Accounting from the Northern Virginia Community College. He began his career with international firms including Deloitte, RM Advisory Services, and RMA Associates, building a foundation in assurance, financial management, and advisory before returning to Afghanistan to focus on high-impact, public-interest work.Â
At Moore Afghanistan, he directs ISA-compliant audits under IFRS and the IESBA Code, calibrates materiality and risk responses, and provides technical leadership on complex areas such as IFRS 9 expected credit losses, IFRS 16 leases, provisions and contingencies, related-party disclosures, and going concern. On the tax side, he advises on Afghan corporate income tax, withholding, payroll, and indirect taxes, supports dispute resolution and transaction-driven planning, and aligns tax strategies with financial reporting and regulatory expectations.Â
His portfolio includes fiduciary, advisory and compliance engagements for the World Bank, USAID, UN agencies, private sector clients, and other development partners, including INGOs, where he is recognized for delivering practical, defensible solutions that strengthen transparency, accountability, and value-for-money. Mr. Mojadidi also leads the firm’s quality agenda under ISQM-1—embedding independence safeguards, digital workflows, analytics-enabled procedures, and independent engagement quality reviews on complex assignments—while mentoring staff and contributing to ethics and professional development initiatives.Â
Mr. Mojadidi speaks English, Dari, Pashto, Urdu and Arabic, and is known for bridging international standards with local realities to produce clear insights, credible opinions, and actionable recommendations for boards, donors.
