Bio

Ahmad Khalid Wadaan is the Chief Executive Officer of Moore Afghanistan, bringing
over eight years of progressive experience in financial management, audit, compliance,
risk management, and institutional development. He holds a Master’s degree in Finance
and Banking from Kabul University and a Bachelor’s degree in National Economics from
Nangarhar University.
Mr. Wadaan began his professional career in the finance sector, advancing through
roles that deepened his expertise in financial analysis, project management, and
corporate governance. He later joined the Central Bank of Afghanistan (Da Afghanistan
Bank) as a Senior Auditor, where he supervised both banks and non-bank financial
institutions. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in developing regulatory
frameworks, policies, and procedures for Electronic Money Institutions (EMIs) and
Payment Institutions (PIs), contributing significantly to the modernization of
Afghanistan’s financial regulatory environment.
With extensive experience in financial and data analysis and management, risk
management, financial audit and supervision, and compliance system enhancement,
Mr. Wadaan has worked with various national and international organizations to
strengthen financial governance, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. His
leadership at Moore Afghanistan focuses on driving strategic growth, fostering
professional excellence, and promoting transparency and accountability across financial
operations.
In addition to his corporate leadership, Mr. Wadaan has dedicated over four years to
academic teaching, sharing his knowledge in finance and economics and nurturing the
next generation of professionals in Afghanistan’s financial sector.
Mr. Wadaan is fluent in English, Pashto, and Dari.
